Featured Project
A 19th-century coral-stone merchant house on the Stone Town seafront, converted into a 10-room guesthouse. Restraint was the method — what results is a building that feels as though it has always been this way.

Featured Project
An 18th-century townhouse off Merchants Street, restored room by room after forty years of neglect. The recovery is so measured that the forty years simply disappear.

Featured Project
A private residence and guest pavilion set into a jungle plot above the Petanu river valley in Ubud. Nothing on site clears two storeys, and the whole compound feels grown rather than placed.

Restraint isn't a style decision here. It's the only decision, made repeatedly.
